Kim is a Chinese American long steeped in Chinese traditions by her mother. While studying fine art in Munich, she falls in love with a young German man. Max comes from a wealthy family and adores her but while everything seems perfect, Kim feels something is missing. She decides to go to Hong Kong to reconnect with her roots.
