Toofan is set in the nineties.
A young man named Shanto dreams of becoming a movie hero.
He makes one sacrifice after another to get an opportunity to fulfill this dream. Finally he gets a small role in a movie and takes all his neighbors to watch the film in the Theatre when it comes out – only to find that his entire role has been edited out of the Film !
Sadly, he becomes the joke of the neighborhood. Dejected – he contemplates suicide.
When he is at the verge of killing himself, he gets kidnapped by a notorious gang lead by a Gangster named Gaus.
It is then Shanto finds out he has an uncanny resemblance with Gaus !
This starts a chain of Events that leads to the climax.
