Paul Williams was one of the biggest stars of the 70's. He wrote songs about depression, loneliness and alienation- everything I cared about when I was thirteen. Songs like, 'We've Only Just Begun,' 'Rainy Days and Mondays,' 'The Rainbow Connection', and 'Evergreen,' recorded by artists like The Carpenters, Barbra Streisand, Ray Charles, Three Dog Night - even Elvis. He won Grammys and an Oscar. He was everywhere-The Tonight Show 50 times, on variety shows and game shows, and co-starring in films like Smokey and The Bandit and TV shows like The Odd Couple. But in the 80's, he just disappeared. For a long time, I thought he was dead. As it turns out, he's not. This movie is about what happened when I found him.
