Last Unicorn
The Last Unicorn
The Last Unicorn, the classic 1982 animated fantasy film featuring the voices of Alan Arkin, Jeff Bridges, Mia Farrow, Angela Lansbury, and Christopher Lee, plus music and songs by Jimmy Webb and America, has come back to movie theaters in remastered digital print form, with sold-out shows in 19 different states
and all across Canada. Now the tour brings The Last Unicorn back to the silver screen for the first time in more than 30 years.
“I’m excited to go out on the road with the film,” says author-screenwriter Peter S. Beagle, who will be at every screening to do an audience Q&A session, meet fans, and sign books. “When I began work on this story, just over 50 years ago, I never imagined it would go on to reach so many people, or affect them so deeply. It’s a little hard for me to believe, actually. But I love getting to share my characters in person with others who care about them as much as I do.”
Since its initial release The Last Unicorn has enchanted audiences everywhere with its moving story about a unicorn trying to find and rescue her lost people, and the price she pays for bringing magic back into the world. Considered one of the great fantasies of the last century, the original novel has sold over six million copies in 25 languages, while the film adaptation has sold more than four million home video copies in America in just the last nine years.
Now fans of The Last Unicorn can meet its creator and finally experience this spectacular animated film on the big screen, the way it was meant to be seen!
