Based on the 1968 story Iron Man by the British poet Ted Hughes, The Iron Giant is about a young boy who befriends a giant robot from outer space and tries to protect it from a paranoid government agent who wants it destroyed. “Brad Bird [The Incredibles, Ratatouille] fills the CinemaScope screen with wit and beauty in this modern fairy tale.”
