Dances With Films 14 - the Ultimate Sequel
Slate Announcement & Love’s Kitchen Opener June 2-9, 2011

LOS ANGELES, CA - While sequels may rule the theaters this summer, originality is what will draw crowds to Dances with Films, the popular film festival entering its 14th edition this year. Renowned as one of the last truly independent film festivals, DWF triumphs innovation with its reliance on unknown, up-and-coming talent to provide some of the most original features, shorts, documentaries, and music videos you’ll see all summer long.

At a time when many festivals are losing sponsors or closing altogether, DWF is growing strong, having added CAA, Adobe, Final Draft, SagIndie and MTV to the list of supporters who are looking to find tomorrow’s stars today at the festival.

DWF will also host an opening night film, made by alumni James Hacking, ‘LOVE‘S KITCHEN,’ starring real life loves, husband & wife Dougray Scott and Clair Forlani. Dances With Films, which normally eschews ‘stars’, welcomes them when it is their alumni progressing into bigger budgets and names. A few other recent alumni successes include the likes of Will Scheffer & Mark Olsen (Big Love), Grammy nominee Paul Bock (Cee-lo’s ‘F**k You’), and Carmen Marron, whose film ‘Go For It’, a 2010 Audience Award winner, just received a national release via Lionsgate, to name a few.
