Blitz Attack: The Andrea Hines Story
Blitz Attack: The Andrea Hines Story
This documentary is about a 13-yr-old boy named Adan, who in1994 brutally murdered a family friend in a small town near the Mexican border in California. In a ritualistic style killing, the murder disrupted the town, the families, and the friends close to the victim and the perpetrator. In 2001, the producer, in search for what led up to the murder, began documenting and interviewing the townspeople. A nationally renowned forensic psychologist, who performed an extensive evaluation of the boy, said that Adan has the make-up of a serial killer. Twists in the story raise the real question, who is really to blame for Andrea’s death? Is it parental neglect? Is it a town riddled with methamphetamine problems? Did the victim have something to do with her own demise? Was this a Nicole Brown copycat murder as some folks in the town said? A combination of interviews, dramatization, animation, home movies, and the use of news footage were incorporated to recreate “the times.” The documentarian, in her quest to understand what went wrong, holds back nothing in this film. After surviving ten years in the California Youth Authority, will the boy now man, as predicted by the therapists in the story, kill again? Blitz Attack is graphic and heartfelt. It is not rated, but parental discretion is advised.
