After his Buddhist mother dies of cancer, an alcoholic Amerasian comic Will (Eric Martig) reluctantly delivers his mother's prayer bracelet to Miki (Karli Hall), his estranged Jewish high school sweetheart in Chicago. The death that reconnects them as adults turns out to be their source of salvation.
