The Snitch Cartel

(El Cartel de los Sapos)
Martin Gonzalez is a working-class boy who starts trafficking drugs, as it is the only way to climb the social ladder and conquer the love of Sofia, a good but unattainable middle class girl. Martin has longed for Sofia’s love since childhood.

Martin becomes an active member of the most dangerous drug cartel in Colombia: “The North Valley Cartel”. A criminal organization that defined itself as a powerful and bloodthirsty machine that exceed the others Colombian Cartels in political influence, military tactics and economic power.

Slowly, Martin works his way up through the organization into the powerful inner circle with his best friend, Pepe Cadena, who is the younger bother of one of the biggest drug lord, Oscar Cadena. Pepe becomes blinded by power and money after his brother is killed in prison. Their friendship fades as Pepe exercises his
new power over Martin, who feels threatened by growing disagreement between the two. Betrayal is now in the air.

Pepe forces Martin to stay in Mexico, supervising the smuggling routes into the US. However, Martin doesn’t want to be separated from Sofia. He’s promised her that he’d quit drug trafficking as soon as he can repay his debts to the new drug lords, who now run “The North Valley Cartel” and are threatening Sofia’s life.

Once in Mexico, Martin stumbles upon Anestesia, an old acquaintance from The Medellin Cartel, who is now working undercover for the DEA. Martin sees the opportunity to leave the trafficking life and to protect Sofia’s life at the same time.

Martin turns his life around and becomes a Snitch. He works with the DEA, to help bring down the most dangerous Colombian Drug Cartel. In exchange for his cooperation, he serves a reduced prison sentence, during which time he writes a book, “El Cartel de los Sapos.”

Now he must choose between power, justice, and love. And no matter what he chooses, he may end up losing everything...
