In Harm's Way

An enthralling period drama based on true events, In Harm’s Way is a story of heroism and sacrifice set in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Directed by two-time Cannes Palme d’Or-winning filmmaker Bille August (The House of the Spirits, The Best Intentions), the film stars Emile Hirsch (Into the Wild, The Autopsy of Jane Doe) and Crystal Yifei Liu (Disney’s upcoming live-action remake of Mulan).

After the attack on Pearl Harbor damaged Americans' morale, FDR decided to bomb Tokyo in retaliation and to raise the public's hopes. Bomber planes led by Lt. Col. Jimmy Doolittle successfully bombed Tokyo but after completing their mission ran out of fuel and were forced to bail out in occupied China. One young pilot, Jack Turner (Emile Hirsch), is hidden from brutal Japanese forces by local villagers, including a widow named Ying (Crystal Liu). With time running out, they take their one chance to make their break for safety.
