Forever As The End - Fate
Forever As The End - Fate
"Forever As The End - Fate" is a documentary which talks about Ulrich Ollendorff’s family who in 1938, the day following KristalNacht flees Berlin as to avoid the horrific destiny shared by six and a half million Jews who were killed in the Holocaust. The family leaves the only home they knew in Berlin for the uncertainty of America. They arrive as immigrants. Ulrich Ollendorff once he grasps the knowledge of the English language applies for and receives the necessary permits to open his own doctor’s office. Within only a few years he becomes one of the most well respected and famous ophthalmologists in New York City. The ophthalmology department of New York’s Columbia Hospital today bears his name. Immediately following the Russian aggression towards Ukraine the Ollendorff family as a sign of remembrance and gratitude towards Dr. Ollendorff finds two Ukrainian immigrant families and provides them with a home and resources to live their life in the Polish city of Wrocław, a city the Ollendorff family originally hailed from. This is a story about humanity and empathy still existing in this world despite the many examples proving otherwise unfortunately.
