Film Summary
A new Hungarian musical and Romeo and Juliet update set amidst the 1956 revolution. On October 23rd, 1956, the security forces organize a costume ball for the birthday of the locally stationed Russian commander’s daughter. The youths intend to cause trouble again, but their plan falls through as the ball comes to an abrupt end when news arrives of the revolution’s outbreak in the capital, Budapest. By this time Juli, the birthday girl, and Robi, the son of a deported actor, have fallen in love.
