‘The elixir of love’ is a comedy of love and rural life as we watch Vittorio Grigolo attempt to woo the elegant lady of the village, Lucy Crowe, with a little help from Bryn Terfel’s Doctor Dulcamara and his love potion. One of the most popular operas of all time, the performance features bikes, mopeds and trucks on stage. Laurent Pelly’s acclaimed production of Donizetti’s opera radiates tenderness, humour and southern sunshine.
